Stroller Rental

Being a SAHM, I travel a lot with my baby alone, and it is pretty inconvenient for me to bring a stroller along. Hence, I always bring my baby out in a carrier and try to visit places with stroller rental services.

Truth is, MF hates being in a stroller and he’s almost always in the carrier when we’re out. So why do I need still need a stroller?

  • I use it to put baby down when he’s napping.
  • I use it to put baby down when I need to use the toilet. (Have you ever wondered how to visit the toilet when out alone with baby?)
  • I use it to put my bag (which is NOT light with all the baby stuff).

Here’s a quick run-down of places where you can find stroller-rental services:

SHOPPING MALLS

CapitaMalls

  • Bishan Junction 8
  • Funan DigitaLife Mall
  • Plaza Singapura
  • Sembawang Shopping Centre

CapitaMalls rent out a standard Infantasy stroller for free. The stroller can be reclined (not fully, but good enough) for younger babies.

To rent, look for the Customer Service Counter at the mall and you need to deposit your IC.

Century Square

I haven’t used the stroller rental service here before, but I spotted a poster in the mall that said they provide stroller rental service. To rent, look for the customer service counter at Level 2.

City Square Mall

There are different models of strollers for free rental here, with flat ones for newborns to one that can be reclined to about 45 degrees for older babies. They also have kiddy cabs for toddlers that you can rent for free too!

To rent, visit the Customer Service counter on level 2. You will need to deposit your IC there.

Harbourfront Centre

You can rent a Mothercare ‘Thomas the Train’ stroller for free here. It cannot be reclined and is only suitable for babies who are able to sit upright.

To rent, look for the Customer Service counter on Level 1. You will need to show your IC and they will take down your particulars, but you do not need to deposit your IC there.

Hougang Mall

I haven’t used the stroller rental here before, but a sign at the customer service counter on level 3 that says they provide rental of strollers.

ION Orchard

Living up to expectations as an up-market mall, ION Orchard rents out Maclaren Techno TX strollers for free! The stroller can be fully reclined for younger babies. I especially like this stroller because it has a cover that totally covers up the baby up when he is sleeping.

To rent, look for the Concierge on Level 1 (not any other concierge) and you need to deposit your IC.

Liang Court

You can rent a sturdy Goodbaby stroller here for free. They are also extremely thoughtful and put a seat protector in the stroller. It can be reclined, not fully, but good enough for small babies.

To rent, look for the customer service desk at Level 2. You will need to deposit your IC.

NEX

You can rent a Combi stroller for free here. It cannot be reclined and is only suitable for babies who are able to sit upright.

To rent, look for the Customer Service counter on Level 1. You will need to deposit your IC.

Orchard Central

I haven’t used the stroller rental here before, but a poster I saw at the shopping mall said they have kiddy prams for rent from their concierge.

Raffles City

You can rent a stroller for free here. Previously when I rented, I got a Raffles City stroller which cannot be reclined and is only suitable for babies who are able to sit upright.

More recently, I got a Bonbebe stroller which can be reclined, not fully but good enough for young babies.

To rent, look for the concierge on Level 1.

Takashimaya

You can rent a Takashimaya Aprica stroller. The stroller can be fully reclined for younger babies. However, the stroller feels a bit old and unstable, and there is no cover.

To rent, look for the customer service inside Takashimaya department store (level 2), NOT the customer service desk of Ngee Ann City at level 1. They will make a photocopy of your IC, you do not need to deposit it there.

Tampines One

You can rent a Maclaren stroller here for free. The stroller cannot be reclined and is only suitable for babies who are able to sit upright. To rent, look for the customer service counter at Basement 1.

United Square

You can rent a stroller here for free for 3 hours, after which there will be a fee of $10 per half hour. When you rent, they will ask you for the age and weight of the baby and I believe they will find a suitable stroller for you. The stroller I got for 10-month old MF couldn’t be fully reclined and is not suitable for younger babies.

To rent, look for the customer service counter at Level 1, within Connectz. You can also get diapers and milk sample here!

PLACES OF INTEREST

Changi Airport

You can rent a special trolley with baby seat for free at the airport. The baby seat can be inclined into a sleeping position and hence suitable for young babies.

You can try to find one of these lying around the airport, or approach any information counters at all three terminals of Changi Airport.

Jurong Bird Park

You can rent a Maclaren stroller for $9 here.

To rent, look for the rental counter near ticketing.

Singapore Zoo

oh! N thank u for all the info so far! It has been v useful for me.

  4. what is the requirement for tourist who wants to rent a stroller? also, are there any stroller rentals that are on a per day basis?

    • Most shopping centres rent out the stroller for free and you can use it all day, just need to return it before the customer service counter closes. You need to show some identification, so I suppose a passport will do for tourists, and they may ask you to leave a deposit (which will be returned when you return the stroller).
